Date & Walnut Hot Cake
Another exclusive recipe from Chef Milind Sovani
Preparation time : 50 mins
No. of Serves : 4 to 6 Persons
 
Ingredients :

  • Seedless dates: 400 gm.
  • Walnuts: 175 gm.
  • Sugar: 200 gm.
  • Butter: 250 gm.
  • Flour: 250 gm.
  • Egg: 06 nos.
  • Water: 250 ml.
  • Soda bicarbonate: 1 ½ tsp
 
Method :

1. Chop the dates & walnuts fine.
 
2. Mix sugar , butter, chopped dates in to lukewarm water & mix well.
 
3. Beat the egg slightly.
 
4. Sieve flour & soda together & mix chopped walnuts in it.
 
5. Mix the flour & date mixture together & blend well.
 
6. Add eggs & mix thoroughly.
 
7. Put this mixture in to a greased cake mould & bake at 225°F for 30-40 mins.
 
8. Remove & slice & serve warm sprinkled with icing sugar on top.
